Step-Change Programme
The concept of a Step-Change programme evolved out of a multi-faceted project undertaken over an extended period for a leading FMCG manufacturer.
In short, LCA became a Supply Chain Development Department for the client – jointly responsible (along with the client’s management team) for delivering service improvements and/or cost reductions through a series of sub-projects – each with defined deliverables. These ranged across network optimization, distributor integration, demand and production planning, materials handling, transport management, people development and management by KPIs.
The results were exceptional:
- The project was able to deliver immediate (recurring) cost savings in excess of the consulting fee.
- The client realized a massive shift in output (per unit of plant).
- A mindset of “positive change” was instilled in the people – opening the potential for continual improvement across the business.
The LCA difference
Step-Change was not developed in an air-conditioned office. It grew directly out of success on the ground with a client and with the client’s people.
